Harnessing Your Power of Intention

Often, I am surprised by the power of intentions.  Whether you declare them aloud or silently, they can reap powerful results.

My intention for 2020 was to find additional wellbeing and diversity communications consulting projects.  I am passionate about supporting self-care through well-being initiatives, and building strong, inclusive company cultures.  Recognizing the value of this work in my own life and with my clients, there is a perfect time to share my gifts with others.

My gift is empowering people to find their voice and tell their stories. Similar to completing a jigsaw puzzle, I think about the words people use and move them around until they come together in a meaningful way.  I find I am especially energized when I’m empowering people to tell wellness and inclusion stories.  It had been awhile since I worked on one of these projects and I missed it! That’s why I set the intention to make it happen in 2020.

Here’s where the magic of intention-setting comes to life.  Having set my own intention to focus on wellness and diversity, the topics were at the forefront of my mind, and I talked about them frequently.  I am working currently with a team that’s looking to strengthen their HR-related communications with well-being and diversity part of the “to do” list.  When the client heard about my expertise, they assigned me to the global wellness and diversity & inclusion teams as the communications lead.  How exciting to see my intention for the year come to fruition!

We all have the power to define what we want and set a plan of how to get it, but you don’t have to do this alone. Let others know what you’re looking for and see how they might be able to help you achieve it. Track your progress, adapt your approach, and note victories big and small.

So much is changing in the world around us and it can be a positive experience if you reflect on how your gifts align with your intentions. What are you proud of and where do you feel stuck? I’m excited to hear your stories!
